The TreeCel calculator was inspired by the frustration of using the common spreadsheet programs in the following areas:

  • they show the results of an expression but hide the expression itself
  • not being able to use simple contructs like IF and FOR
  • lack of any any structured data - arrays etc.
  • no tree structures
  • no step by step debugging
